Poor Hobbit fans

If you haven’t heard, Guillermo Del Toro has decided to leave as director for The Hobbit because of prolonged delays affecting his other work. Like…. At the Mountains of Madness? Maybe? Hopefully? AtMoM is my favorite Lovecraft story, and I would love a proper, true to spirit movie adaptation. Especially with such quotes as “ATMOM is a delicate project to push through a studio: no love interest, no female characters, no happy ending…” Fuck yeah. A true mythos telling, big budget, top director, and only teased for 8 years!

So, sorry hobbittisses…. But there’s another master calling.

Hopefully.

If you would like to read At the Mountains of Madness, it along with his other works are in the public domain and can be read online at The HP Lovecraft Archive. If you would like the dead tree form, my favorite Lovecraft Editions are The Thing on the Doorstep and Other Weird Stories (Contains ATMOM), The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Stories (The most heard of if not read), and The Dreams in the Witch House and Other Weird Stories. All are part of the Penguin Classics collection, and are annotated by an authority on Lovecraft, adding a perspective of his writings based on the times. I actually have them sitting in front of me. I’ve bought several copies of this edition over the years and given them out as gifts.

Tekeli-li! Tekeli-li!

It’s really a size issue

Sad, sad, sad story here. Even if it is a couple of days old.

This also harkens back to our unloved T-Shirt.

Sorry for all the political posts, but well, much like Christian artwork, it’s such low hanging fruit. I mean seriously, how can we not? It’s not that we are against picking on other religions, it’s just that there is such a wealth of arrogance on canvas for us to focus on. Same thing with these campaign stories.

One can only hope this ends in 3 weeks. On the other hand, it could solve our content problems for the next four years. *shudder*
